DEPARTMENTS OF THE COLLEGE

1.     Department of Ayurveda Samhita, Siddhanta and Sanskrit:

This dept. has been functioning since the inception of the college. In this dept. classical texts i.e Charak Samhita, Astang Hrudaya along with the subjects like Padarth Vijnana, Ayurveda Itihasa etc., are taught. In Sanskrit, teaching is imparted to improve the grammatical and literary knowledge of the students for better understanding of   classical texts. This department has its own museum containing various charts and models.
2.     Department of  Dravya Guna:

ii.       Prof. (Dr.) Amulya NIdhi Parhi M.D. Ay. Kerala, Professor

This dept. has been functioning since 1980 in its own building.
            The herbal garden of this college has spreaded over about five acres of lands comprising more than 1016 no. of plants and 292 species. The concerned students are being imparted practical training here.
            The dept. has its own museum containing about 200 variety of dried drugs and 30 varieties of fresh preserved specimen with different charts.

3.     Department of Rasasastra & Bhaisajya kalpana

This dept. has been functioning since 1980 in its own building. The dept. has its own well decorated  museum containing more than 200 raw and prepared drugs and about 100 different charts and models.
College pharmacy:
A pharmacy is attached to the department for manufacturing of ayurvedic medicines traditional and modern equipments are used for manufacturing more than 50 nos. of medicine annually. The prepared medicines are utilized for the patients of OPD &IPD. Practical classes are carried out in the pharmacy. The pharmacy is also supplying medicines for different health camps.

4.     Department of Shareera Rachana:

  The dept. has its own well decorated museum containing different charts and models and separate dissection hall for practical demonstration.
5.     Department of Shareera Kriya:

ii.             Dr. Surama Mishra, M.D.(Ay), K.U., Lecturer
The dept. has its own well decorated museum containing different charts and models. A well equipped laboratory is there for practical classes of students.


6.     Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga
Members of teaching staff:

The dept. has its own building decorated with different charts and models for yoga demonstrations and class. In various occasions department organizes yoga camps for betterment of public health.
7.     Department of kaya chikitsha:

This dept. has been functioning its own building. A separate O.P.D and35 beds in the I.P.D of hospital have been allotted to this dept. Patients with all sorts of general ailments are being treated regularly by the specialists of the dept.



8.     Department of Roga Nidan and Vikruti Vigyan:

This dept. is functioning with well equipped laboratory with facilities of X-ray, ECG, USG and auto analyzer etc. All pathological investigations are done for the patients and demonstrated to patients here.

9.     Department of Panchakarma:

This dept. is having its one dept. building with all facilities to do Panchakarma and various Ayurvedic procedures for patients. A physiotherapy unit with number of sophisticated equipments attached to it. Many patients are benefited for treatment of various diseases . Geriatric and Psyco-somatic diseases are being treated under it.

10.                        Department of Agadatantra:

The Dept. is functioning with its own museum and imparting teaching in the medico-legal aspects
11.                        Department of Prasutitantra and Stree roga
Members of teaching staff:

i.                  Dr. Manorama Pati, MD (Ay), A.P.U.H.S, A.M.O. (As Lecturer)

The dept. has its own museum and separate OPD in the hospital. 15 beds of IPD have been allotted to this dept. Patients with gynecological dis orders are treated with medicines as well as minor surgical procedures like D&C, Cauterization etc. apart from normal delivery.

12.                        Department of Koumarabhrutya:

The dept. has its own OPD and IPD with 10 beds in the Hospital. Children of various pathologies are treated here. The dept. has its own museum and demonstrating charts for proper training of students.
13.                        Department of Shalyatantra:

The dept. has a well equipped Operation Theatre with   modern surgical instruments. Operations like Hydroceole, Hernia are surgically managed in the Dept. Anorectal Cases are specially treated with Ksharasutra Chikitsa. It has its own Dept. with charts and models for demonstration. Separate OPD and 15 beds are allotted for the dept. in the hospital.
14.                        Department of Shalakyatantra:

The dept. has OPD and IPD with 10 beds in the hospital equipped with modern instruments. Eye and  ENT diseases are treated with Ayurvedic procedures like tarpana, dhupana, karna purana etc. Dept. is having charts and models for demonstrating students.
